One more popular myth is that you need to have a persons social security number in order to perform a background check on them. This is false and you actually need very little information on a person in order to perform a background check on someone. Most times you will only need the persons full name and their birth date.

Yet another myth about background checks is that you have to be a business owner or land lord in order to perform them. This is also not true and you don’t have to be in any specific field or job position to perform a background check on someone. All you have to do is to have the information that you need for the search and find a company to perform it for you.
